Corte Altavilla Hotel

The four-star Corte Altavilla Relais Hotel is an ancient medieval court, set in a residential area in the heart of the historical centre of Conversano (Città d’Arte), on the top of a hill, at 8 km from the sea, in the "trulli" (small round house builts of stone, with a conical roof) and caves area. In this place, in 1100 the young and beautiful Sibilla d’Altavilla, the Roberto Courtehouse's wife, (William II the Conqueror, the king of England's son) lived. Sibilla, who never became the queen of England, was buried in the Cathedral of Rouen in Normandia. Thanks to a detailed rebuilt in 2002, the ancient court has been converted in a refined relais with elegant suites and apartments where the with stone walls, the barrel vaults and the timbers give to the rooms a magic charm. Narrow alleys become corridors and the farmyards bcome cosy halls. Everything is made with care, with an harmonic contrast between the past and the present. The Altavilla Relais Hotel's tasteful furnishings and decor will make you feel relaxed and thoroughly at home, whilst the charming reception area gives you a feeling of warmth and comfort. Location

Conversano is a hilly town close to the sea (7 Km) in province of Bari. It is 30 km from the airport of Bari.

32 rooms (rooms and suites) are equipped with all the modern comforts and facilities such as controllable air conditioning, flat satellite TV, safe box, telephone, Internt facilities, minibar, kitchenette (olny in some rooms) and smooking detector. On request: jacuzzi in the junior suites.

SOTTANI
Amazing and characteristic rooms made of stone with barrel vaults, located on the groundfloor. In the past they were workshops, stables or cellars. They have a plain furniture (wrought iron and wooden) and have been renovated without changing their own characteristic: the “chianche”(spotless stones used as flooring). Nowadays the "sottani"are used as cellars for the home made wine. They are well equipped with all the comforts such as air conditioning, heating, refrigerator, kitchenette, sat tv, telephone and safe box. They provide two sleeps.

JUNIOR SUITES
The main characteristics of these suites set in the heart of the historical centre are: the contrast between the white stone walls, the timbers, the amazing view facing the Roman Cathedral and the beautiful living room. Enchanting furniture and excellent facilities such as: air conditioning, heating, refrigerator, kitchenette, Sat TV, telephone, safe and amazing view. They provide a double bed.
TOP JUNIOR SUITE
Comfortable and tasteful room with star vault, divided into rooms: in the first one there are a large jacuzzi (for two people), flat TV and in the second one a double bed with flat TV. Ensuite bathroom with shower. The junior room is equipped with all the comforts: air conditioning and heating, sat TV, telephone, Internet facilities, safe and minibar.
TOP SUITE
Beautiful apartment with lovely star vaults. It has two rooms: in the first one there are a living room with flat TV, wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with shower, an intermediate floor with a double bed and a private terrace facing the historical centre. In the second room there are a four-poster bed, a jacuzzi and another bathroom with shower. Tasteful and elegant furniture and modern facilities such as: air conditioning, heating, minibar, sat TV, telephone and safe box. There is also a kitchenette.
STANDARD
Pittoresche ed accoglienti dimore racchiuse tra muri in pietra ed intonaci bianchi, ricavate da antiche dimore del 1200 all’interno di una Corte medievale, arredate con letti in ferro battuto e mobili in legno. Dispongono di due posti letto e sono dotate di tutti i più moderni comforts tra cui aria condizionata e riscaldamento, TV sat, telefono diretto, preso per collegamento internet, cassaforte, frigo e persino un piccolo angolo cottura celato in un mobile in stile (su richiesta).
STANDARD
Colourful and comfortable dwellings made of stone, obtained from old dwellings dating back XIIIth century inside a medieval court. They are furnished with wrought iron beds and wooden furniture. They provide two sleps and are equipped with all the modern comforts such as air condtioning/heating, Sat TV, telephone, Internet connection, safe, refrigerator and a kitchenette (on request).
TOP STANDARD
Ample-sized rooms decorated with high style furniture such as a cupboard where there are an electric plate and a refrigerator, also they have wrought iron beds, walls of stone, vaults, timbers that characterize this type of rooms. They provide three sleeps in two different rooms and they are equipped with all the modern comforts such as air conditioning, Sat TV, Internet connection, telephone and safe box.
ATTICO
Unique dwelling developed on two levels connected by a wrought iron spiral staircase. It is equipped with a panoramic terrace, typical of a medieval village. It provides three beds located in two different rooms and is equipped with all the modern comforts such as air conditioning, heating, Sat TV, telephone, safe box, minibar and kitchenette.
FLAT
Two-room mini-apartment that has a living room and kitchenette, a bathroom and an ante-bathroom with basin. Wrought iron decoration, style furniture, large windows and all the modern comforts. It provide four beds.

Cooking&Eating

In the morning a buffet breakfast is usually served in the restaurant's terrace overlooking the historical centre. The breakfast consists of: orange juice, yougurt, cereals selection, cakes, tarts, Chiaffarata's brad, toasts, jams, seasonal fruit, tarallini, cheese, sausages, eggs.
For dinner the chef offers typical dishes prepared with local products.
