Gallipoli, on the Ionian sea is located in the western coast of Salento peninsula, in the gulf of Taranto. A peculiarity of this town is its territorial division into areas: the "old town" and the "new district". The enchanting old town is rich in ancient buildings and is set on a island linked to the mainland by a bridge made of stone. The apartment is located just in the old town, where you can find the most architectural beauties of the town such as the castle, the cathedral, two hypogean oil presses and the museum. The Sant’Agata Cathedral is an excellent example of Baroque art.
