Il Frantoio Masseria farm house

Il Frantoio, besides being a farm house, is also an organic farm plunged in 72 hectares of age-old olive groves from which 5 types of extra vergine olive oil are produced and proudly served to its guests. The rooms are furnished with period furniture and the house has two gardens and a 16th century hypogean oil mill, which is unique for its size and good state. Some common areas and a library with 1500 old books are at the guests' disposal, together with the sun beds and beach umbrellas reserved for them on two beaches that are 10 minutes by car from the farm house. From the 17th century citrus orchard different fruit is produced and used to prepare the marmalades and jams served at breakfast, which allows to agreeably start the day thanks to a rich buffet offering both sweet and salt food. The farm house also produces rosolio, including the unique liqueur of leaves of olive tree. The cosy atmosphere of Il Frantoio and the kindness of its owners are important characteristics to those who choose this accommodation facility as the starting point for discovering the wonders of Puglia.

Location

Il Frantoio is 5km to the north of Ostuni, 80km from the port and airport of Bari and 40km from the port and airport of Brindisi.

Rooms

The farm house has 13 bedrooms, each of which is called with the name of a flower or a plant. There is only a single room, while the other are double rooms (with double bed), triple or quadruple rooms. There is also an independent apartment with kitchen (5 sleeps). The rooms are located in the courtyard, the gardens and on the first floor of the patronal house.

Cooking&Eating

Rosalba's recipes were transmitted for several generations and use only fresh and genuine products from the organic farm. Upon request (for lunch or dinner) a special menu is served (8 organic and wild medieval courses with two excellent Apulian wines).
