From October 14-17, 2010, the XXIst edition of the Celebration of the Volia Cazzata will take place in Martano, province of Lecce. It will be organized by the cultural association “Cosimo Moschettini” and the city of Martano.
The celebration, which celebrates the olives, but not only, has become one of the most important Autumn manifestation in the Salento.
It will be possible to freely taste the typical “volie cassate” (mashed olives), and other products of the local gastronomical tradition, such as vegetables, “cicoreddhe” (wild vegetables) cooked according old recipes, boiled pork, grilled meat and traditional cheeses of the Salentinian Greece.
A local wine will accompany these tastings.
The celebration is organized in collaboration with the Friends of the Celebration of the Villimpenta Risotto (Mantua), that will allow visitors to also taste risotto, polenta, cooked pork meats and lambrusco.
Popular Salentinian music as well as Italian and foreign music from the 1970s-1980s will accompany the event.
On October 17, do not miss the lunch based on tastings of typical plates from Salento and Villimpenta, to be booked in the stands.
