On August 12, 2010, the Celebartion of "la pasta fatt'a casa e lu porcu paesanu Pri-pri" will take place within the old center of Montesardo, fraction of Alessano, province of Lecce. Its name, linked to a curious anecdote, comes from an old tradition which consisted in keeping a pig in the place of the village and then in sacrificing it during a celebration.
It will be possible to taste the pork meat according to various recipes as well as handmade pasta and other old dishes, such as the "marenna" (based on fried bread, turnips and chickpeas), "lu ranu passatu", "le pittule" (filled fritters), "la fritta", the "foje reste" (wild chicory) and the "zavirne" (typical wild vegetable).
