Bari (Apulia) - Italy

Until October 26, 2010, it will be possible to visit the exhibition "Ambra per Agamennone. Indigeni e Micenei tra Adriatico, Ionio ed Egeo", in the old city of Bari, more precisely within the spaces of the Palazzo Simi and of the Museo Civico.
At the Palazzo Simi, 360 archaeological pieces, coming from the main archaeological zones of the region and from other important sites situated on the Adriatic route, will be displayed.
They are important testimonies that explain the commercial relations between Puglia and the East Mediterranean at the bronze age.
On the contrary, at the Museo Civico, splendid examples of decorated ceramics (from Ancient Greece, Ancient Basilicata and Ancient Puglia), are visible. They come from the collections of the Museo Nazionale di Taranto and Gravina in Puglia and let imagine the different initiatives of Agamemnon, the mythic King of Mycenae.
The exhibition is organized by the Assessorato alle Culture del comune di Bari, in collaboration with the Centro operativo per l'Archeologia - Soprintendenza per i Beni archeologici della Puglia, and also, with the Universities of Roma "La Sapienza", of Foggia, of the Salento and with the Istituto di Studi sulle Civiltà dell'Egeo e del Vicino Oriente -- CNR Roma.
