On May 16, 2010, in Pietramontecorvino, in the province of Foggia, the "Settimana identitaria" will begin with the traditional procession of the poles and of the icon of Sant'Alberto.
The procession goes from the city center to the old Montecorvino for a 7-km-course.
The statue of the patron saint is preceded by the characteristic poles of Sant'Alberto, tree trunks decorated with multicolor tissues, that can reach more than 15 meters. A delegation of Somma Lombardo (Varese), where an important community of emigrants of Pietramontecorvino is currently living, will also participate in the procession.
The manifestation, that will end on May 23, will also host the second edition of Regionando, a meeting between Puglia and another region of Italy.
Numerous other initiatives will also be organized, such as the second Motoincontriamonci, which is dedicated to the enthusiasts of two wheels, that will take place in the Piazza Aldo Moro. At last, during the "Settimana identitaria", themes about the "Sistema turistico locale" of the Monti Dauni will be discussed.
