Otranto (Apulia) - Italy
On May 1 and 2, 2010, the "Medieval Days" will take place in Otranto (province of Lecce). The historical commemoration will start at 11am on May 1 with the "celebration's brass band", and will continue until the sunset of Sunday.
The sites of the manifestation that recreates the atmosphere, characters, sounds and flavors of the XVth century, will be the old center and the castle's moats.
Passing by the old "Porta Terra", visitors enter the core of the celebration: the streets of the village as well as the moats of the castle will be liven with the Celebration of Spring, which used to mean in the Middle Ages a day of free buying, selling and bartering for all the serves of the village.
Knights, magistrates, servants, musicians, singers, bowmen, arquebuses, drummers, merchants, acrobats, jugglers and ottoman people will help visitors to live a weekend as if they were living in the XVth century.
