On April 24, 2010, the manifestation entitled "Verdure di campo e dintorni" will take place in the Contrada S. Marco de Locorotondo (province of Bari). This is the first gastronomic competition of the Palio delle Contrade.
Organized by the Association "Il Paese delle Contrade", this is a gastronomic competition among the different districts of Locorotondo, in which dishes are mainly prepared with spontaneous plants and field vegetables : omelet with wild asparagus, soup of wild grasses, chicory presented with egg and cheese.
So many simple but delicious dishes, very typical of the Valley of Istria's culinary tradition.
