From April 23 to 25, 2010, the tenth edition of the celebration of whistles will take place within the atrium of the ex convento dei Teatini, situated in Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Lecce. Indeed, the whistles are one of the symbols of the city.
The event is organized by the Associazione Academia Lupiaensis.
This year's theme is "Il mare e i suoi abissi...". The 3 artists that will interpret this theme in the most spiritual and artistic way will be awarded during the manifestation.
The aim of this event is to remind the traditions and to promote the work of the artisans. Thus, visitors will have the possibility to admire the skill of the local artists.
Another contest will be organized : it will be dedicated to the pupils of elementary schools. The theme will be "Il mare…fonte di vita" and pupils will have to do drawings and poems.
