Taranto (Apulia) - Italy
Until July 20, 2010, within the spaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the MArTA' - Museo Nazionale Archeologico di Taranto, it will be possible to see an exhibition of ancient vases, which are inspired by the world of Dionysus.
Born with the 49° Convegno di Studi sulla Magna Grecia, the exhibition, entitled La vigna di Dioniso. Vite, vino e culti in Magna Grecia, also shows terra cottas and coins.
The protagonist of the exhibition is Dionysus, the ancient Greek god of wine and inebriation, a complex divinity, represented on archaeological pieces found in Taranto, Metaponto, Rutigliano, Ceglie del Campo, Egnazia and Montesannace.
The entrance costs €5 and the exhibition remains open from 08.30am to 07.30pm.
