Three moments of faith and traditions are lived in Grottaglie during the Holy Week.

On the Friday before Palm Sunday (on March 26), at 06.30pm, The Procession of the Desolata will start from the Matrice Church.

The Statue of the Virgin will be brought in procession within the streets of the village.

On April 1, at the beginning of the afternoon, the Confraternità del Carmine (Bbubbli Bbubbli) will wisit the different churches of the village.

On April 2, at 06pm, the Procession of Mysteries will be organized by the Confraternità del Purgatorio : 5 pasteboard statues will parade with the traditional wooden statues of the Addolorata and Cristo Morto.

April 11 will be dedicated to the pilgrimage to the Santuario della Mutata, which is considered as a holy site by the inhabitants of Grottaglie.

The Assessorato al Turismo ed Itinerari culturali del Comune di Grottaglie has also organized an initiative for Easter 2010: a photographic competition entitled "La Settimana Santa a Grottaglie - riti religiosi e tradizione popolare".
