On December 18, 2009, at the Communal Theater Piccini of Bari, the first 2009-10 International Festival "Nell Gioco del Jazz" was inaugurated with the concert of the French violinist Jean-Luc Ponty. The festival will continue until May 16, 2010 with some international appointments.

Sponsored by the Monte dei Paschi di Siena, the festival is organized by the young cultural association "Nell Gioco del Jazz", headed by Donato Ronito and advised by Roberto Ottaviano; and by the Onlus "Beppe Valerio" association, in order to spread in all the region the artistic culture.

On February 14, 2010 at the Nuovo Palazzo Theater, Bari, concert of L.Tabackin (saxophone), M.Tramburini (trumpet) and G.Bassi (bass).
On March 12, 2010 at the Cineteatro Royal of Bari, concert of H.Bennink (drums), B.Marini (Hammond piano) and D.D'Agaro (saxophone).
On April 13, 2010 at the Nuovo Palazzo Theater, concert of Sara Jane Morris (voices) and of Dominic Miller (guitar).
On May 16, 2010, at the Relais "Villa Menelao" of Turi, concert of the Academy Big Band, directed by Gregorio Lacobelli.
