Fair>San Severo>January 15-17,2010>Celebrations of the black pig & S.Antonio Abate

San Severo (Apulia) - Italy

From January 15 to 17, 2010, in San Severo, province of Foggia, the VI edition of the black pig fair, one of the region native races, will be organized together with the celebration of Sant’Antonio Abate. Various events were organized for the manifestation, in collaboration with the "Pro Civitate" and the "Arciconfraternita di Sant’Antonio Abate".

On January 15, at 07.30pm will be introduced the book entitled "Sacro e profano: Sant’Antonio Abate ed il maiale".
On January 16, in the afternoon, a competition of old games will occur at 04pm and at 08pm, the laboratory of flavours will be set up under the name of "il maiale nero dauno incontra due presidi Slow Food, la mucca e il caciocavallo podolico".
On January 17, at 12am, the benediction and procession of animals will initiate, and in the afternoon, "il Palo della Cuccagna", the Good Taste Market and the Gara delle Orecchiette will take place before the closing concert.

It will be a week end full of history, religion, enogastronomy, folklore, music and arts.
