On November 23, 2009, the exhibition "Darwin 1809-2009" by Niles Elderidge, Telmo Pievani and Ian Tattersall was inaugurated on the Svevo Castle of Bari, Puglia. It will end on February 10, 2010. The exhibition is supported by the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, by the Presidency of the council of ministers, by the Minister of Cultural Activities and Goods, by the Lincei National Academy, by the National Association of Scientific Museums, by the Foundation Umberto Veronesi and by the Italian Society of Evolutionist Biology.

This event, organized by "Codice.Idee per la Cultura" and "Azienda Speciale Palaexpo", was organized to celebrate the bicentenary of Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his seminal work "On the origin of Species".

This is an important exhibition, coming from the collection of the American Museum of Natural History of New-York, and implemented to attract a vast audience, in order to spread to the maximum the Darwin's theory.
It will be possible to discover the man and the revolutionary theory that changed the understanding of our world.

The exhibition is visible every day, from 09.30am to 19.30pm, and the entrance is free.
