The Christmas living crib of Faggiano

Faggiano (Apulia) - Italy

From December 24, 2009 to January 6, 2010, it will be possible to discover the Faggiano's living crib, which has become over the past years a tradition of prestige and fame for the region.

Born in 1992, thanks to the Association for Popular Traditions, this event has already received some awards, such as the « Italia's Best Living Crib »for 1998, 1999 and 2000 by the « friends of Madonie Mounts and Sicily 's crib » Association.

The settings and characters are place within a lovely natural landscape, well bounded by fences and enrich with wooden or rocky constructions, that recreate the locations and situations of this traditional representation.

The animation of the crib will begin on the Christmas' Eve afternoon, when the archangel Gabriel, coming from the Madre Church's square, will bring the Holy News to the Madonna. Therefore, she will reach the holy representation on a donkey back.
