Bari:Circuit of Contemporary Arts

The ambitious project of Bari, circuit of contemporary arts, is based on the fact that some unusual locations, and originally not destined to welcome exhibitions of contemporary arts, will be home for various collections of Modern Arts.
The initiative forms a part of the project Puglia-Circuit of the Contemporary, realized thanks to the Accordo di Programma Quadro “Sensi contemporanei”, signed by the Ministry of Economic Development and by the Ministry of Cultural Activities and goods, in collaboration with the regional Direction of Cultural and Landscaped Goods, the Province of Lecce and the towns of Barletta and Polignano a Mare.
This is a project which aims at significantly promoting contemporary arts in Puglia.
Among all the events offered in the 2009/2010, 3 of them are not to be missed.
The exhibition/competition Dipingi i silos , which was presented between September 26, 2009 and October 25, 2009 in the cruise terminal, displayed a visual exhibition about the port's grain silos, realized by the students of the Italian Academy of Arts, giving life through Arts to possible changes in the urban industrial space.
The 2 other events of the calendar are the competition Progetti inContemporanea and Bari inContemporanea.
The first begun in November 2009 and will end up in March 2010. It will set up opened exhibitions in various historical sites of the city.
On the other hand, the second will begin in February 2010 to conclude itself in May 2010, and it will present some different cultural events in the Svevo Castle, situated in the place Federico II of Svevia.
