Eleventh edition of "Alba dei Popoli"

This year the City of Otranto offers a Christmas calendar full of different events from December 20 and to January 6. The event will start on December 20 with the Christmas concert, organized by the 32nd Group of Radar dell'Aeronautica Militare in collaboration with the municipal administration where will perform the famous group " AM Gospel Choir Family "at 19.00 at the Cathedral of Otranto. On december 30 the event continues with the X edition of the "Concerto della Pace", by the Associazione Culturale "Hydruntum Art and the Associazione Culturale JS Bach Tricase. The event will be into the Cathedral of Otranto at 18.30.
The big party to celebrate the New Year will start on december 31 on the Promenade of Heroes at 22.00 with DJ-Set by the local DJs and it will culminate at 24.00 with a performance by Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters. For the occasion a fascinating fireworks will be made. After the concert the show will go on with the event "Aspettando l'Alba", which will propose some DJ's music until dawn of 2010.
On the January 1, on the Promenade of Heroes the exhibition of a group of tamburellasti composed of about 30 boys, by the Association "Music" will take place at 17.00 . The evening continues with a tribute by "SUGAR'S BAND" to Zucchero and then DJ set. On January 2 not miss the appointment with the concert by Goran Bregovic, who will perform with his band on the Promenade of Heroes at 20.00.
On January 3, another gospel concert at the Cathedral of Otranto to 19.00 ( "TAM TAM GOSPEL CHILDREN CONCERT ") will take place, with the jazz vocalist Barbara Henry and the actress Carla Guido, by the Association "Music . On January 6, on the Promenade of Heroes at 16.30, finally, there will be the Feast of the Epiphany dedicated to children, with jugglers, fire performances and a witch, La Befana, who will distribute candy and sweets.
The wine and food festival cibo....non solo sapori" (food not only tastes) will be in December 30 and January 1 at 17.30 in the Castello Aragonese, a castle where you will taste wines and foods of Puglia and follow musical entertainment. On january 2 at 17.00 there will be the presentation of the book "An Appetite for Puglia" by Christine Smallwood, established British journalist in wine sector, and then will follow the wine-tasting foods from Puglia.
